Local Transport

Moving around Medellín is part of the adventure. The city offers a mix of modern, scenic, and active ways to get from one place to another. Here are a few of the most popular options:

Walking & Biking

Every Sunday and public holiday, the city hosts the famous Ciclovía on Avenida Poblado. Streets are closed to cars, opening up for joggers, cyclists, families, and even stylish strollers with their pets. It’s part exercise, part social event, and a fun way to experience Medellín like a local.

Metro

Medellín is proud to have Colombia’s only metro system. If you’re staying at The Marquee, you’re close to both Aguacatala and Poblado stations, which connect you to most of the city. Like in any large city, be mindful of your belongings, especially at night.

Cable Cars

One of Medellín’s signature experiences is its network of cable cars. These are not just tourist attractions—they’re a part of the city’s public transport system. From San Javier Station, enjoy sweeping views of Medellín’s neighborhoods, or from Acevedo Station head up into the green escape of Arví Park, a natural reserve perfect for a day trip.
